NUNZIA SCHIANO Sancarluccio Theatre

very intense reading with a strong dramatic impact on the profound value of motherhood. For many,
motherhood is synonymous with pain. Never was a consideration more focused and appropriate for those who have had to experience the
loss of a child, perhaps torn away in a violent or unjust way. In this reading/monologue we try
to explore the figure of the mother with a mixture of places, faces, voices, all of which hinge on the figure
of the mother of all mothers, the Madonna. Souls are all equal, or should be. And so our
research starts precisely from this question. Regardless of the places of belonging, of one’s
religious beliefs, of one’s ideas, the soul of all human beings should be considered equal. The
earthly Purgatory expressed in the painful suspension of a mother, or rather of all mothers.
